Onkar
Kundalini Yoga Instructor
Los Angeles, CA
Several hundred years ago in the province of Punjabi the Sikhs designed a path to enlightenment for the working man, they called it Kundalini yoga. Hatha (its predecessor) had been designated as a practice that requires removing oneself from the world and focusing only on the spiritual; the Sikhs found a way to accelerate spiritual growth while remaining in the world. For hundreds of years the Sikhs taught Kundalini yoga in secret until 1968 when yogi Bhajan brought it to America.
Onkar was initiated into Kundalini yoga and has spent many years studying and teaching this accelerated spiritual practice. Onkar is also a practitioner of Sat Nam Rasayan a complex Kundalini yoga healing art based on “deep relaxation in the divine name”. She resides in Los Angeles, California, and is a teaching and a studying member of the elite Golden Bridge Yoga center. Onkar leads workshops and groups in Vail, Boulder, Denver and Los Angeles. Valerie and Martha feel blessed to have Onkar lend her knowledge, energy and light to “Clearing the Air”.
William Howell
Master Chef
Vail, CO
Colorado is considered the fittest state in the union. Aside from being a mecca for extreme sports and physical fitness, healthy food tops the list of Coloradan priorities. In order to succeed, fine restaurants and chefs must satisfy this demand; William Howell is one of those chefs.
William Howell graduated from the New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier Vermont. After graduation, William began his career as a chef in 2004 at the famous Sweet Basil restaurant in the Vail Village of Colorado. Sweet Basil is unquestionably the best known and popular restaurants in the Vail valley. In 2012 the owners of Sweet Basil opened a second restaurant in the Vail Village and ask William to move to Mountain Standard in order to become part of the success formula for that restaurant. Mountain Standard has met with equal success and William not only cooks, but also creates entries that are interesting, artistic and healthy. Working within the parameters Martha and Valerie have set for clean healthy vegetarian cuisine, William has already begun to design a menu that is both exciting and satisfying. We cannot wait for you to experience our wonderful, nurturing menu!
